Access to computers and the Internet, and the knowledge to effectively use this technology are critically important in the workplace and in schools. Despite this fact, there is still a “digital divide” between individuals and communities that have access to these Digital Age tools and those who don’t.
Recognizing the importance of computer access and training, NRCDC owns and operates a 16-station Computer Learning & Technology Center at Nubia Square. The center provides computer training for the entire community and averages about 2,400 computer usages a year.
Classes are available for first-time computer users who need basic training, Internet 101 for novice computer users learning to navigate the Web, and e-mail instruction for those who want to communicate with family and friends electronically.
