Michael Todd Triggs is the Vice President, Real Estate Investments for Camden Property Trust. He initially joined Camden Property Trust in 1997 as the Director of Research, where he was responsible for researching and analyzing economic information of potential acquisition and development opportunities in the Central and Midwestern markets. In 2001, Triggs was named the Director of Real Estate Investments where he was responsible for overseeing multifamily developments including site selection, feasibility analysis, due diligence, contract negotiations, architectural design, floor plan review, selection of amenity packages, entitlements, construction, and lease-up. Triggs also managed all land acquisitions, architects, engineers, owners, brokers, and city officials.
Promoted to Vice President, Real Estate Investments in 2008, Triggs establishes the business strategy for multifamily development in the South Central United States. He is also responsible for site acquisition, project analysis, financial feasibility assessment, obtaining public approvals, directing project planning and design, coordinating construction, coordinating marketing and leasing. Triggs has researched, drafted and presented proposals for the acquisition and development of real estate projects totaling over $976,000,000.
Prior to his tenure at Camden Property Trust, Triggs served as the Assistant Credit Manager at Financial Federal Credit Corporation. He was responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans. Triggs also analyzed financial statements, reviewed credit bureau reports, investigated references, evaluated collateral, and prepared loan documents. Triggs began his career as a Field Manager for Guardian Savings and Loan, where he assisted in managing multi-family properties for disposition ranging in size from 264 to 400 units. This position required extensive travel throughout the Southeast United States. He also provided market research to determine the value of properties based on location, use and condition of structure.
Triggs is a member of the Midtown Management District, where he serves as the Vice Chair, and Chair of the Nominating Committee. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Multi-Housing Institute and Greater Houston Builders Association Multifamily Council. Triggs received a BA degree in Business Management from Houston Baptist University.
